In a recent interview, the actor said he was intrigued by the stories ofwomen scientists of the ISRO who struck a fine balance between theirpersonal lives and their commitment to the space agency's Marsprogramme."This is a work of 17 engineers and scientists at ISRO. While listening to somany real stories of women scientists, I found it amazing how they managedtheir homes while being so incredible at work. Through this film, I want totell them that they're great. This movie belongs to these five girls, playedby Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and NithyaMenon. This is their movie," the actor said in a statement.Akshay also expressed his hopes of the film becoming a landmark in Indiancinema, much like the Hollywood sci-fi films ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Star Wars’.He said, "For several years Hollywood has made movies and TV shows likeStar Trek, Star Wars, Gravity, etc, this inspired an entire generation ofinventors, scientists and explorers. I have always wanted to be part of onesuch movie... A movie that inspires our future generations. One thatcelebrates imagination and curiosity.
