After his critically acclaimed performance as Sartaj Singh in Netflix’s Sacred Games, Saif Ali Khan is back in the avatar of a bloodthirsty naga sadhu, seeking revenge. The film is produced by Aanand L Rai and Eros International.
The of Navdeep Singh’s Laal Kaptaan begins with a voice over of the 41-year-old actor, who comments on the eternal contest between life and death. Referring to the Hindu God of Death, Yamraj, he says that human beings are being constantly chased by death, as soon as they are born.
Next we find the Kurbaan actor dragging a corpse in his horse, through a town with a sense of contentment in the eyes, followed by the voice over of actress Sonakshi Sinha. The voice over introduces Saif as a merciless manslayer, who stays glued to his prey, until his death.
The intense creepy background sound complements Saif Ali Khan’s ferocious look with intense dreadlocks and the coating of ashes. Because of his ruffled look, costumes, and accessories, Saif’s look from Laal Kaptaan has been compared with the iconic character of Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp in The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
Saif Ali Khan will also be seen sharing screen with Ajay Devgn, in Taanaji: The Unsung Hero, and Alaia Furniturewalla in Jawaani Jaaneman.
