After the unexpected failure of the critically acclaimed film Sonchiriya which featured Sushant Singh Rajput, Manon Bajpayee, Bhumi Pednekar and Ravi Shorey, director Abhishek Chaubey has started working on the Hindi remake of Tamil film Jigarthanda. The film will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, and is expected to release next year.
Talking about the film, the Udta Punjab director said, “I am doing a film with Sajid Bhai. I am writing this film for Sajid bhai and I am yet to finish the first draft. As and when we have the script in our hand, we will make the announcement about it. The film will release next year.”
Abhishek Chaubey is currently busy with the 50-hours filmmaking challenge, for the India Film Project next month. The filmmaker will be a jury member for the competition and evaluate the projects of the budding filmmakers, which has to be completed within 50 hours of the topic announcement.
