Deepika says the biography IS TOO SERIOUS!

By Bombay Talkies

This time Pradeep Sarkar’s next film is a biography – based on the life of the Bengali courtesan who became a theater singer. Binodini Dasi, also known as Nati Binodini, ruled the Kolkata stage for over a decade under the direction of the famous actor and playwright Girish Chandra Ghosh. From him, she learned everything about acting and co-founded the Star Theater. Pradeep, who produces it with Vasant Thakkar, first turned to Deepika Padukone. After the actress refused, he met Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who appears ready to implement the project. If she continues, it will be her next Bollywood film after Fanney Khan. Deepika has not yet announced a project after Chhapaak has been released. Deepika will next be seen in the sports drama and Shakun Batra’s romantic drama with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey.

According to the leading daily; “Nati Binodini played more than 80 roles in different pieces and was one of the first generations of actresses on the Kolkata stage in the 19th century. At 25, she retired from the stage, married and returned years later as a singer. It is a role that every actress would love to play if the film covers the courtesan’s age over a period of time – from when she was a courtesan to a stage actress to her wedding and come back as a singer. The creators met Deepika a few months ago to tell her a story. She liked the story and agreed to read the script. But then she was busy with Chhapaak actions and left them hanging, saying that she would return to them. Eventually, her team returned after more than a month, saying that she couldn’t make the film because she wanted to make carefree topics and not serious or serious films that she would consume emotionally. “

The film is being shot in Hindi. While a Bengali film, documentaries, and play about her life were made, this will be the first time that a film has been made in Hindi. While Nati Binodini’s life story is open to the public, the film also includes chapters from Binodini’s autobiography, Amar Katha, which tells her life story and talks about the men in her life. The book rights are held by Vasant Thakkar. Nati Binodini started acting at the age of 12 and left the stage at the age of 23 to transform herself into domestic life. She has written two autobiographies – Aamar Katha (My Life) and the other is Aamar Abhinetri Jeebon (My Life in the Theater). She played more than 80 roles in various plays and belonged to the first generation of actresses on the Kolkata stage.
