Just a few days ahead of his 77th birthday, Amitabh Bachchan receives the highest film honor of India, the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award this year. Bachchan’s fans, friends, costars and well-wishers started flooding the Internet, as soon as the Union Minister; Prakash Javadekar tweeted on Tuesday evening.

The post read, "The legend Amitabh Bachchan, who entertained and inspired for two generations, has been selected unanimously for Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The entire country and international community is happy. My heartiest congratulations to him."

Following the tweet, many senior actors expressed their gratitude and congratulated the 76-year-old actor. Superstar Rajinikanth wrote, "Congratulations, dear Amitabh Bachchan ji. You richly deserve this commendable honor."

Director Karan Johar too wrote, "The most inspiring legend of Indian cinema! He is a bona-fide rockstar! I am honored and proud to be in the era of Amitabh Bachchan. The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award to Amitabh Bachchan!"

Needless to say, the entire Bachchan family is proud, excited, and overjoyed at the announcement. Majority of the stars agreed to the fact that the government has chosen the most deserving person for this award and in the right time.
