Director Siddharth Anand's War, starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor has taken an exceptional start at the box office, from the opening day.
Following the box office predictions with advance bookings, War has already minted about 50 crores at the opening with Hindi prints only, beating Salman Khan's Bharat to be the highest opener of the year. Furthermore, the action thriller has also surpassed Tiger Shroff’s Baghi 2 collections of day one to present the Munna Michael the biggest opener of his career. Indeed, this is a huge achievement for War, since the film had to compete with Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy as well as Joker.
Talking about War’s clash with Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Tiger Shroff said earlier “I am big fan of both of them (Amitabh Bachchan and Choranjeevi). Nowadays, I feel that there is a market for every film so, I think every film should do good business, and I wish them all the best.” The actor also said, “More than big numbers, I want people to appreciate our film, not just the spectacle but also the story."
Needless to say, the positive reviews and word of mouth have helped the film to keep up the momentum in the box office, and emerge to be the highest Bollywood opener for 2019.
