Tom Hanks to receive Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Globes 2020

Another award in the basket for the two-time Oscar winner actor
Filmmaker-actor Tom Hanks will be honoured with a lifetime achievement award at next year's Golden Globe awards. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has declared that they are proud to hand over the actor the prestigious Cecil B DeMille Award 2020, on January 5, at the event. Apart from scoring two back to back Oscars in the years 1994 and 1995, for his lead roles in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump respectively, the 63-year-old filmmaker also has Four Golden Globe awards for Big, Philadelphia, Forrest Gump and Castaway in his bag, along with nine nominations! HFPA president, Lorenzo Soria said, "For more than three decades, he's captivated audiences with rich and playful characters." She further added, "As compelling as he is on the silver screen, he's equally so behind the camera as a writer, producer and director. We’re honored to include Mr. Hanks with such luminaries as Oprah
Winfrey, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Martin Scorsese, and Barbra Streisand to
name a few." On the work front, Tom Hanks will be seen in his upcoming release A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood as television host Fred Rogers.
