Ranu Maria Mondal became an overnight sensation of the Internet, ever since her recording of the Lata Mangeshkar song 'Ek pyaar ka nagma hai' at a railway station became viral. Ranu's life changed drastically over the past few days-from singing and begging in the platforms; she has got a decent makeover and appeared on the reality show, Superstar Singer to awe her fans.
The biggest breakthrough in her career came in, as Himesh Reshammiya offered her to sing a song, in his upcoming film Happy Hardy and Heer. The song, "Teri Meri Kahani" was an instant hit among the fans, and the media reports speculate that there will be two more songs in the film, which will feature Ranu Mondal.
However, even though the social media was flooded with warm greetings and wishes for the debutant singer, not everybody is happy with her singing. Even Lata Mangeshkar had a different take on her singing. Even though the Nightingale of Bollywood is happy about Ranu because she shot to fame by singing her songs, Lataji is overly concerned about the future of the newcomers, singing the legendary songs. She said, "But I also feel imitation is not a reliable and durable companion for success."
Reacting to this statement, Himesh Reshammiya has highlighted the difference between copying and seeking inspiration. He said, "We all are inspired by people in some way or the other. When I started singing songs in high pitch, then people criticized me, terming it as nasal singing. But if you look at the international scene, it has become a common trait."
Himesh Reshammiya has teamed up with Ranu Mondal, for three songs for his upcoming film, Happy Hardy And Heer. After the successful launch of Teri Meri Kahani, the fans are now eagerly waiting for the release of the remaining two songs, Aadat and a recreated version of Aashiqui Mein Teri.
