The biopic of Indian actress and politician Jayaram Jayalalithaa, is incomplete without M G Ramachandran, aka MGR. The makers of Thalaivi, which features actress Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, have finalized the popular south star, Arvind Swamy for the role.
Actor Arvind Swamy is best remembered in Bollywood, for his impressive performances in Mani Ratnam’s Roja and Bombay. The makers are hoping that the calm and reserved actor, who is also fluent in multiple languages, can do justice to the dynamic role of the late Tamil superstar and former chief minister MG Ramachandran. As per the media reports, "MGR and Jayalalithaa starred in 28 box office hits between 1965 and 1973. While the makers needed a worthy actor to do justice to his role, another criterion was the artiste had to be fluent in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.”
Arvind satisfied both criteria. The unit will kick off the shoot for Thalaivi with Kangana from the first week of November in Mysore and Arvind will join her on November 15," the source added.
Titled "Thalaivi" in Tamil and "Jaya" in Hindi, the biopic of Jayalalitha, directed by Vijay, will go hit the shooting floors on November. Meanwhike, the Queen actress is prepping up for the dynamic role with regular dance lessons and prosthetic preparations for her look.
