Sonam Kapoor to support a human rights organisation against human trafficking

By Rhea Bahrani 08 17, 2019 | 08:53 AM
Sonam Kapoor all geared up to attend a charity dinner this evening, joining hands with a human rights organisation against human trafficking.
The actress has joined hands with an international organisation in order to raise awareness about human trafficking in the country. Talking on the issue, she said, "We can begin by educating our women, and even men. We need to provide employment opportunities to the victims and offer a means to a livelihood to them." Sonam laid stress upon the fact that as people look upon the stars as their role models, it is our duty to do our bit for the society. "It's important for celebrities who are in a position of power to be able to raise funds for issues that need to be addressed. With power and fame comes responsibility, and I believe we should use that as a catalyst for social change," Sonam said. The Neerja actress has also shown immense support for the #MeToo movement. "The #MeToo movement was a step in the right direction. It made society less misogynistic, entitled and changed how we think," she believes. Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonam is all set to be seen in 'The Zoya Factor' opposite actor Dulquer Salmaan, which will hit the theatres on September 20, 2019.
