Sanjay Dutt is all set to take over the theaters, with his first Hindi production, Prassthanam. The multi starrer political drama featuring Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Ali Fazal, and Chunky Panday will have simultaneous premieres in Doha and Dubai, before it releases theatrically on September 20.
Ever since the announcement, Prassthanam has created a buzz. The Hindi remake of the 2010 Telegu blockbuster marks the reunion of the Vaastav actor with Jackie Shroff, 19 years after the release of Mission Kashmir. The duo also shared screen space in the Madhuri Dixit starrer 1993 blockbuster, Khalnayak. The trailer of Prassthanam features Bollywood’s Munnabhai in the role of a political leader Ram Kumar Sinha, whose close associate is an honest police officer Ram Kumar Sinha played by Jackie Shroff. In due course of the narrative, they turn against each other and face a choice between loyalty and integrity.
The makers wanted to keep the Bollywood remake close to the original Telegu film, and so the film is helmed by Deva Katta, who has also directed the Telegu version of the film.
