It has been a long journey for Rohit Shetty. Having made several successful (and some not-so-successful) films in his Bollywood stint, he has worked with some of the biggest stars in the industry.
The film went on to become a hugely successful franchise, with other stars joining the subsequent films. ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ was Rohit’s second film as a director and he gave a string of hits after that, which included ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Bol Bachchan’, ‘Singham’ and ‘Simmba’. The filmmaker is currently busy with his film ‘Sooryavanshi’ and reports suggest that it is being made on a very large scale. Starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, the film will see Akshay playing DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, Chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad and release next year. Rohit is keen on making a franchise with his cop films and ‘Sooryavanshi’ is another step in that direction. He said that was the reason why he had Ajay Devgn making a cameo as Bajirao Singham in ‘Simmba’, which starred Ranveer Singh. In fact, in a recent interview, Rohit also revealed that he wouldn’t mind making a film on a woman cop as well. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz5JFdwhvgZ/?igshid=1m5s4pfj5wjrc
