Despite targeting a different set of audiences, Sanjay Dutt's Prassthanam and Sonam Kapoor- Dulquer Salmaan starrer The Zoya Factor have failed to beat Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. On its opening day, the film minted Rs 1-1.10 crores, to become the highest first-day grosser of the three, while The Zoya Factor and Prassthanam have managed to earn Rs 80-85 lakh each.
Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is an innocent love story, starring the debutants Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba. The film is expected to perform well among the young audience, because of the picturesque landscapes of Manali and the simplicity of the story. Passthanam, on the other hand, boasts a dynamic ensemble of Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Ali Fazal, Chunky Panday, Manisha Koirala, Amyra Dastur and Satyajeet Dubey. The political drama is a remake of the 2010 Telegu film of the same name, which is loaded with hefty dialogues and enthralling action sequences. Prassthanam also marks the stepping out of Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanayata Dutt in the role of a producer.
Considering the fact that both the films Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas and Prassthanam are made for a different set of audiences, it is expected that the movie will not affect each other's box office collection.
