The film will have another unusual female-centric plot

Ekta Kapoor, who has been enjoying the overwhelming success of Ayushmann Khurrana’s hilarious comedy Dream Girl, has locked Disha Patani for another quirky romantic comedy under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.

Ekta Kapoor’s recent projects are driven by dynamic contents, which dig deep into to the female characters. From Alia Bhatt’s realistic character in Udta Punjab, to the courageous four female characters in Veere Di Wedding; Ekta Kapoor has come a long way in Bollywood. In her recent interview, the 44-year-old producer-director has  revealed that she has finalized Disha Patani for a romantic comedy, helmed by the director of Mere Dad Ki Maruti, Ashima Chibber. However, the pursuit for the rest of the cast is still on, including Disha’s love interest.

While the final announcement for the film is awaits, the media reports say,”The makers are planning to mount the film in January or February next year. Although details of the project have been kept under wraps, the film is believed to have Disha playing a strong and realistic character similar to those in Ekta’s earlier female-protagonist-based movies. Ekta’s banner is apparently trying to shoot a teaser to announce the film in a week or two.”

On the work front Disha Patani has recently wrapped up Mohit Suri’s Malang, with Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor. The film is slated to release on February 14, 2020.
