Actor Adil Hussain joins Star Trek: Discovery cast

The trailer of Star Trek: Discovery was premiered at the New York Comic-Con on Saturday

Actor Adil Hussain, who has previously worked in the popular international films The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Life of Pi, has joined the fictional universe of the popular American web series Star Trek: Discovery. The 56-year-old phenomenal theater actor is known for acting in Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam, Norwegian as well as French films.

Starring actors Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Sonequa Martin-Green, Wilson Cruz, David Ajala and Michelle Yeoh, Star Trek: Discovery will feature the English Vinglish actor in the role of a scientist, who combats the evil forced in the science-fiction. The makers launched the one-minute-ten seconds long trailer for the first time at the New York Comic-Con on Saturday, before dropping the intriguing trailer in the social media with the caption, “#StarTrekDiscovery takes fans 930 years into the future at #NYCC #StarTrekNYCC.”

Adil Hussain was last seen in Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani-starrer blockbuster Kabir Singh, where he played the dean of the Medical Institute. The third installment of the Star Trek franchise is all set to premier in 2020.
