War becomes the biggest hit of 2019

By Bombay Talkies 10 20, 2019 | 03:12 PM
Hrithik and Tiger starrer War has now become the highest-grossing film of the year 2019 and is just a few steps away from the 300 crore mark.

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War seem to be on a rollercoaster ride, and there's no stopping it. War is most probably the only film in 2019 which stood tall amidst all the anticipation and didn't upset the audience. The film hit the silver screens on October 2 and has now become the highest grosser of 2019 in just 19 days. It had earlier defeated Avengers: Endgame to register the record for the highest opening gross collection for any film in our country irrespective of whether belonging to Bollywood or Hollywood. In fact, it was the first film to be shot in the Arctic Circle.

Apart from that, the film has been lauded by all of Bollywood fraternity as well as the audience and as a consequence; it made it to the 100 crore club in three days of release. The action-packed thriller is helmed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films.

The film has now done a gross box office collection of Rs 279 crore with more yet to come. However, War is expected to be running for a few more days, but it seems that it will have a hard time to make it to the 300 crores club with Akshay Kumar starrer Housefull 4 to hit the silver screens on 26th October.
